Summer in the City...

May 2010

Vienna is more than just history!
Discover the many facets of the Austrian capital and enjoy the airy and contemporary Viennese Summer lifestyle while surrounded Imperial Scenery, from the CityHallPark to DanubeIsland:
A great deal of life takes place outdoors – not only during the major events…

Vienna City Hall
The square in front of the Vienna City Hall is certainly a main attraction. During July and August, the open-air, public stage features a Music Film Festival and a plethora of culinary treats. During the winter months of November and December, The Magic of Advent transforms the square into a traditional Christmas market, which gives way in January and February to the outdoor ice-rink, punch bars and refreshment stalls of the “Dream on Ice.”

Danube Canal
During the summer months, you can enjoy an urban beach holiday by the Danube Canal. Attractions include the bars and bistros of the Summer Stage, beach bars such Herrmann’s and Adria Wien, and last but not least, a Tel Aviv beach!
The sunny Vienna Tel Aviv Beach is being created as a trendy meeting point with huge potential in order to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Israeli metropolis.

Danube Island
In the hotter months of the year, the sprawling Danube Island is a popular gathering place for young pub crawlers looking to party late into the night.
The Badesschiff (or “Bathing Ship” – a floating swimming pool) in the canal features the new Dive for Dancers nightclub in its hull. The parties at Fluc_Wanne celebrate the Indie scene while guests at the Phoenix Supper Club dine in high style, right down to their socks.

The Badeschiff on Vienna’s Danube canal continues to be one of the city’s summer hot spots. Pleasantly warm water fills the swimming pools on the upper decks of two permanently anchored barges. The main event, however the Dive for Dancers, is concealed below deck — the former hold was converted into a venue where guests can dance the night away below the water line. From Tuesday to Saturday, DJs spin records that run the gamut from disco to minimalism, and there is also a stage for live acts. And if the floor seems to start swaying in the early hours, the most likely culprit is a delicious cocktail from the bar.

Partygoers at the Fluc_Wanne at Praterstern are sure to be on solid ground. The thick concrete walls are a reminder that the venue is converted pedestrian passage. This means that noisy-rock-concert-goers don’t have to worry about the neighbours, and famous international and Austrian DJs such as DJ DSL can crank the sound up for hip hop, techno and electronic nights.

By contrast, the Phoenix Supper Club goes in for relaxing music and good food. The aim is for the stylish clientele to relax as they recline and dine. And if a guest should forget the dress code in a moment of carelessness, fresh socks are available for sale in the restrooms. The doors open at midnight for all the party people.

Motto am Fluss (Motto on the River) at the “Gate to Bratislava” –Tradition Meets Modernity.

A multifaceted island of relaxation on the water, a new modish spot in the centre of Vienna – quite simply the place to be! The new boarding port for the Twin City Liner is the “Gate to Bratislava,” celebrating the connection between two great European capitals. The high-speed, aluminium catamaran, the Twin City Liner, has connected the cities of Vienna and Bratislava by water since 2006.

Our motto at Motto am Fluss:
Feel good. Enjoy. Relax. Switch off. Eat healthy. Party with DJs. Simply take time out. Or organise your business life as pleasurably as possible!
