Hong Kong Unmasked!

March 2015

Take A Walk on the Seaside…

Lantau, Hong Kong’s largest outlying island offers a multitude of attractions.
You can take a moment of enlightenment whilst visiting the 26 metre high Bronze Giant Buddha statue, glide through the mountains on the Ngong Ping 360 cable car, meet Mickey and friends at Hong Kong Disneyland or take to the trails and enjoy the island on foot to discover the newest addition to Lantau’s offering you head to South Lantau and to the beach through the buffalo fields where you’ll find the uber-cool Mavericks.
This bar, restaurant and “board shack” with casual comfort food from award winning chef Austin Fry uses homemade and locally sourced produce and ingredients to be eaten whilst looking out on to the expansive Pui O beach.
An environmentally conscious and socially and community aware team at Mavericks offer a great alternative venue that contrast to the hustle and bustle of the metropolis with enough space to cater for groups and with the added advantage of a recreation centre onsite for those wishing to enjoy group or team building activities.

Club One, another newly opened beachside venue can be found in Repulse Bay. One Place offers a number of easily serviced function rooms not only ideal for banquets but also perfect for groups wanting a meeting space outside the confines of the city.

Take a Walk on the Cultural Side…

Hong Kong is a city that has a constantly changing cityscape – but not everything has been forgotten from the past. Hullett House in Tsim Sha Tsui is now well established as a beautifully renovated venue with top class dinging options in grandiose colonial architecture. It was formerly the Marine Police Headquarters.
Currently the former Central Police station in a prime location on Hollywood road is currently under renovation too with plans to house numerous culinary, creative and cultural delights.
The most recently opened venue that has filled its spaces with art projects, restaurants and boutique shops is PMQ. The former Police Married Quarters just at the corner of Hollywood Rd and Aberdeen Street in the SOHO district of Hong Kong. Since its opening last year the venue has filled with an eclectic range of delights for all the senses with a central courtyard that has already catered for international showcases and exhibitions. The PMQ can easily be included as a refreshment stop on a historical walk to discover old Hong Kong amidst modernity.

Take A Walk on the Culinary Side…

Hong Kong’s dining scene is as expansive as it is diverse. Always up to date with new trends and equally aware of traditional cuisine, there is never a month goes by without a new opening to add to the mix.
Currently 65 restaurants in Hong Kong hold Michelin Stars which shows the international standard of top quality and innovative cuisine available in Hong Kong. International visitors never have to fear that their choice of cuisine will be limited to ‘local’ in this international city and one of the perfect experiences to offer a group is a dine-around where large groups are split up in to smaller social groups and scattered within short walking distance of each other in Soho.
There are a multitude of cuisines available in this district with many restaurants flexible to those with dietary requirements.
When in Hong Kong – it would be unfortunate not to taste the local cuisine and two places offer space and quality, and respect the art of Chinese cuisine.
The China Club, a private member club, offers a classically elegant and exclusive feel to your dining experience whilst Mott 32 opened in 2014 to rave reviews of many of its signature dishes as well as award winning interiors.

Take A Walk On The Wild Side…

Truly a city that never sleeps, Hong Kong is renowned for its exciting nightlife. Locals, expats and visitors make the most of its abundant watering holes by bar hopping but with so many options available and some requiring the right connections to get passed the doorman Destination China has found the perfect solution to this problem. Our Bar Angel’s & Devils will collect you from your dinner and take you to some of the most exclusive bars and clubs without any queuing. These chaperones are not guides but Hong Kong resident models and actors that know where the party is happening and also how to make one.

Destination China is always on the search for new experiences for international clients, ensuring high standards and quality are kept at all times. We understand that relationships count in business and memorable experiences inside and outside of the conference make memories that build bonds.
