Croatia: Today More Accessible Than Ever

March 2015

Until recently, Croatia has often been bypassed under the meeting & incentive industry’s radar; however it is quickly becoming a more and more desirable destination within Europe.

With recognition growing annually, it is beginning to emerge as a top meeting & incentive destination both for European and overseas clientele. More and more guests have witnessed and experienced its magical beauty along with its world known hospitality.
One of the biggest challenges in becoming a trendy world wide – and “must” – meeting and incentive destination for many years now has been fairly poor selection of flight connections, especially for those flying to Croatia from long haul destinations overseas. In recent years this is starting to change and beginning this March, we as a destination are very happy to announce that Croatia is becoming more accessible to potential clients internationally.

This year new direct flights were announced to Zagreb – the capital of Croatia, Dubrovnik – the pearl of Adriatic, Split – the capital of Dalmatia, and Pula – the capital of Istria peninsula connecting parts of Croatia with all major international hubs in Europe.  In an addition new significant investments are taking place in all airports infrastructure on four major international airports in Croatia.

Why Zagreb?

The new flights introduced to Zagreb International Airport, the main airport in Croatia are connecting Croatia and Zagreb both with European metropolis but as well with Far East and overseas destinations.

A new destination for business travelers, Croatia’s capital, with almost a million citizens, offers a wide variety of venues, drawing on the area’s natural beauty and long history. Especially interesting are historical venues, museums and galleries, as interesting for their appealing historical facades as they are for their spacious and well equipped meeting areas.

Why Istria?

The Istria Peninsula, a wine making and olive tree paradise area is connected to the rest of the Europe with its Pula International Airport

Explore the roads of Istria, taking you throughout vineyards and olive orchards, red plains and green valleys, modest little towns and rich sea resorts. Visit Grožnjan, an old town extremely well preserved situated on the northern offset of the plateau above the Mirna valley.
Discover the town of Motovun, a town-monument, an ancient Istrian acropolis town located atop a 277 meter high hill, whose present appearance dates back to the middle Ages. Stop by the village Livade and taste excellent Istrian wine with light snacks or dinner. Travel back in the past with
Discover the Istria’s inland by bike, pedal through the villages; explore small shelters called “kažuni” built in the open fields; stroll the roads next to the wine yards and olive orchards. Arriving on the higher peaks of the hills, you’ll have a superb view over the surrounding area.

Why Split?

Split International Airport has for many years been well connected with major European hubs and Russia, especially with low cost and regular charter carriers

The eternal city, emerging from the walls of the Roman Emperor Diocletian’s massive palace, in addition to a wide variety of hotels, restaurants and venues offers exciting clubs for group events. After daylong meetings and activities, these vivid streets, selection of restaurants and clubs provide a perfect relaxing atmosphere.

As a special added value to Split is definitely the vicinity of Island of Hvar which has emerged as the Lifestyle Destination of Croatia.
Hvar, Croatia’s most popular island, “Top Ten Islands in the Med“, celebrity hot spot, has grown into a vibrant and young city known for its beach clubs and fabulous night life with numerous lounge clubs and restaurants that can be privatized.
The island also has a more serious side with its architecture and beautiful nature ideal for elegant cocktails, gala dinners and private concert performances in idyllic surroundings.

Why Dubrovnik?

And the last but not least important region to which the flights have been improved in the past year is Dubrovnik International Airport.

“The Pearl of Adriatic” has been a must see destination for meetings & incentives travelers.
Dubrovnik is a UNESCO listed World Heritage site. This unique city offers a wide variety of hotels, venues, activities and shore excursions all centralized around this beautifully preserved medieval walled city. Compact in size and easily accessible, the town offers six 5 star hotel properties within walking distance of city center, limiting the need for bus transfers to a minimum. The remaining four and five star properties are only a short distance away leaving transfer times less than 15 min. Historic venues captivate all visitors, transporting them back in time to the Dubrovnik Republic, which rivaled Venice in its maritime powers and skilled diplomacy.
Diverse Activities are also offered both in the city center and in the surrounding hinterlands.

With its rich current and new offer, no one can go wrong by choosing Croatia as the destination meeting all of its business travel needs!
