Dionysus, the god of wine would surely have approved of this amazing annual event which has grown to become an international festival attracting tens of thousands of people every year.

A variety of performances from local and international artistic groups enhance the pleasure.

Come and live the experience of five and a half millennia of Cypriot wine-making and, while enjoying your glass of wine, and familiarize yourself with the fantastic variety of wines produced on the island today.

Eis Ygeian! Cheers! Santé! Prost! Na Zdarove! Salute!

Sit back and let the plot unfold!
OTELLO. The Opera by Giuseppe Verdi
7, 8 and 9 September 2012 – Medieval Castle in Paphos

This year the Paphos Aphrodite Festival opens by showcasing this popular opera, one of the great tragedy-themed plays of William Shakespeare.
Shakespeare chose Cyprus as the setting for this great tragedy to be enjoyed by you on location, with the Paphos Medieval Castle as a backdrop, bringing this 16th century tragedy to life!
The opera is produced and presented by the Opera of the Slovak National Theatre and the music by Giuseppe Verdi.
This is another credit to Paphos, which is well on its way to becoming the European Capital of Culture for 2017!

Cyprus has many more festivals to offer to discerning travelers and delegates alike, all of which form part of the highlights of the Cyprus Presidency of the European Union, which adds prestige and recognition to the Festivals.
