First United
A great new product in Denmark, exclusive from First United!

March 2005

The settings for all activities are the park and forests surrounding the historic Gjorslev Castle - a medieval, baronial castle complete with moat from 1396 and home of the Tesdorpf family - located at an hour and fifteen minutes from Copenhagen, with an enormous estate.

The activities can range from an authentic, medieval dinner in the vaulted dungeon of the castle ? rough hewn tables with benches covered by deer skin, bowls and utensils that are period replicas and serving staff in period dress ? to challenge activities in the forest, which can include overnight accommodation in tepees or in an old wooden bunkhouse overlooking the Baltic, or a combination of both or something completely different ? perhaps the re-enactment of a 15th century fair with tents and booths with fortune tellers, competitions, fairground performers and food from braziers or a character challenging and character building survival program in the forest or a product presentation in a tepee or...

A simple, teambuilding program for 50-60 persons could be

- Cross the moat and arrive in the Castle Courtyard, where horn blowers greet the group and a welcome drink is served
- Pursued in the beautiful park with an open air buffet lunch consisting of simple, nourishing Danish country food
- The group is then divided in several teams for the activities program and, once lunch is over, the challenges of the competition start, which could include, amongst others ?
? Throwing Viking double-headed axes
? Caber tossing
? Archery
? Rope climbing in centuries-old trees
? Tower building with boxes

- Upon completion of the activities, enjoy a robust, medieval dinner in the 600-year-old castle cellar before departure.

The imposing presence of Gjorslev Castle and the surrounding landscape is a superb setting for a wide range of inspiring activities, for which First United is your contact.
