Copenhagen Island Hotel

During the summer of 2006, the new, spectacular Copenhagen Island Hotel lowers the leaf of its bridge and opens its doors to its first guests.
Copenhagen Island is going to be a modern hotel beautifully designed by architect Kim Utzon and with a superb view over the harbor. The hotel will be located on an artificially constructed island in the middle of the harbor.
Copenhagen Island will be a state-of-the-art hotel in 4-star product quality at a 3-star price. In addition to its 326 rooms the hotel will boast meeting facilities for up to 90 people, a fitness room, a business centre and a great restaurant.

Restaurant Transformation at D’angleterre

The restaurant at Hotel d\'Angleterre has undergone a complete transformation – the décor is new, the chefs are new and the culinary style is new!

The cuisine
The cuisine at Restaurant Hotel D\'Angleterre will reflect the season since the highly regarded, new chef believes that fresh market produce is the basis of any savory dish. The international cuisine has a French point of origin - a cuisine spiced with imagination, creativity, and good common sense. For lunch, the restaurant serves light dishes and a 3-course lunch menu. Evenings offers gastronomic experiences with à la carte, classic dishes and a tasting menu. The restaurant will also feature guest chef days and other gastronomic events.

Chef Rasmus Kofoed is back at Hotel D\'Angleterre
Rasmus Kofoed served his apprenticeship with Hotel D\'Angleterre, receiving his bronze medal in 1997. Since then, Rasmus Kofoed has won many awards including the 2001 Four-Generation Chef Award. In 2003 he was elected Chef of the Year and won a Silver Medal in Dessert Creation for chefs and confectioners. In 2004 he took home both the Scandinavian championship in Stockholm and the Eurotoques Award, becoming Denmark\'s candidate for the \'Bocuse d\'Or\' contest and recently he won the coveted Bronze Bocuse in Lyon, France.

EULAR Congress to Copenhagen

The executive committee of EULAR, European League Against Rheumatism, has just announced that their 2009 congress is going to be held in Copenhagen. The congress attracts more than 10,000 delegates from most of the world representing health professionals, patient organizations and scientific societies in the field of rheumatology.
Executive director of EULAR Fred Wyss says that Copenhagen was chosen as destination for the 2009 congress first of all because the city has all the facilities required to handle an event of this scale, including a large congress center, excellent infrastructure with only 12 minutes transport time from congress venue to city center, good hotels in the right category and nice venues for social events: \'In addition, Copenhagen is a very attractive city beautifully situated by water - and inhabited by friendly people, which also counts,\' Fred Wyss concludes

Forbes CEO Forum in Copenhagen

The American media giant Forbes has announced that their third European CEO Forum will be held in Copenhagen the 7th-8th of June 2006. Forbes CEO Forum, Europe is a prestigious conference where the world\'s most influential business leaders are invited together with top people from universities and governments from around the world.
The agenda for the meeting in Copenhagen has yet to be finally determined. However, at the two previous meetings in London and Paris the agenda included topics such as the business community\'s challenges under global market conditions, the significance of China in the world\'s economy, the relations between the USA and Europe.
