Moviewalking in Budapest

Film tourism does exist! Although still in its infancy in Budapest, we have teamed up to raise its profile quickly as possible. We love Budapest and love films. Mainly those films which, either emotionally or historically, can be somehow connected to the Hungarian capital. Our desire is that you would come backstage with us and join our programmes to explore the legendary film locations of Budapest. Adventures, secrets and heroes are waiting for you! The screen comes to life, not only in the cinemas, but also on moviewalking tours!

In our selections you can find alternative walking tours as well as bus tours.

At the end of the day, relax and rewind as a Hollywood star at Kempinski Hotel Corvinus Budapest, the home of film stars when staying in Budapest, such as Madonna, Eddie Murphy, and Arnold Schwarzenegger among others. Dine in Robert de Niro's favourite Nobu restaurant and search for the Blue Fox offers at the brand new bar.

World's Metropolis Unite Tour
Budapest is the biggest metropolis! It contains Argentina’s Casa Rosada, Paris’ Champs-Élysées, London’s Soho district, Vienna’s Rathaus and much, much more.
Join us and we will show you how Budapest's monumental architecture has provided the atmosphere of other big cities around the world!Starting at Szabadsag Square you will hear of Bruce Willis, Robert Redford, Madonna, Antonio Banderas, Sir Anthony Hopkins, John Cusack, Robert Pattinson, Selena Gomez, Eric Bana, Daniel Craig and more!

Spies in the Castle Tour
Starting at Clark Adam Square we'll explore the movie secrets of the Buda Castle. There are stories of dictatorship and empire, political systems and power, spies, agents and secret files. We will take you to places where Arnold Schwarzenegger, Eddy Murphy and Owen Wilson and who knows, maybe real agents, fought crime. We will show you Vatican City in Budapest and silent and pleasant areas where Robert Redford trained Brad Pitt in the movie Spy Games.

Follow The Heroes Tour
Film heroes have always existed! In film and in our dreams there are legendary saviors who turn everything good, defeat evil and win over injustice, where the bad are punished by heroes. There are several mythical and mystical heroes in the films recorded in Budapest.Who are they and what have they been looking for here? Why did “the wind blow” them here or rather the script, the plot? You can get the answers if you join us on our two and a half hour moviewalking tour! We'll explore secret hiding places, towers and palaces, passages and courtyards. It’s worth coming with us!

Buda and Pest - over and beyond films
At the beginning of our moviewalking tour, it is hard to tell where we actually are.Berlin, Budapest, Moscow, Paris, Saint Petersburg or maybe Monte Carlo? Before we get lost at the railway station designed by Gustave Eiffel, we get on the bus as film adventures are awaiting us!

Across the city - Filmstars in action
We'll drive through the city by bus and stop at fascinating film locations to watch some scenes. Wherever we go, we can see faces, streets and squares.

Budapest Christmas Fair

The sweet scent of kürtős kalács and mulled wine. Servings of sausage. Arts and crafts stalls. The sound of chatter, laughter and music. A lavishly decorated tree. You’re at a Christmas fair.

Stall after stall, the biggest Christmas fair in Budapest brings Yuletide spirit to Vörösmarty square between November 22 - December 23, 2013, in the heart of the city. For unique Christmas gifts from hand knitted wool clothes to wooden toys, peruse the offerings of arts and crafts designers, all certified by the national association of artisans. Try the season’s sweet treat, kürtős kalács, and mulled wine. Feast on sausage, fresh bread and pickles. Enjoy folk dance and music performances. Or stroll around the square with friends for a jolly old time.

A Christmas market awaits you at St. Stephen’s Square too from December 1 to December 31, every day from 10 am to 8 pm.

Peek into the workrooms of craftsmen and cooks, taste a wide range of spicy winter drinks, eat and buy traditional Hungarian Christmas foods. In front of St. Stephen’s Basilica, enjoy ice-skating on the rink in the snow and admire the ray painting!
