Royal Visits

The British throne Prince Charles and his wife Camilla visited the Hungarian capital Budapest. The royal couple arrived in Hungary when, at a dinner hosted by President Laszlo Solyom, Charles spoke of his personal ties to the country. The Prince of Wales, 61, said he feels a special relationship with Hungary, being a one thirty-second Hungarian himself through his great-great-great-grandmother, the 19th century Transylvanian countess Claudine von Rhedey.
Charles and Camilla took part in various engagements that fit with the environmental and educational theme of their trip, before they flew on to the Czech capital Prague on Saturday.
This year\'s Budapest Spring Festival was officially opened with a Danish exhibition in presence of the Danish Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary in the Ludwig Museum of Budapest

Hungary Celebrates 2010 as ‘Year of the Festival’

Hungary already has an impressive reputation for hosting an array of cultural festivals, but with 2010 being officially declared ‘The Year of the Festival’ by the Hungarian National Tourist Office, this year promises to be something special. Along with the more well known festivals in Budapest, there will be special attention this year on the exciting variety of celebrations on offer in and around the city of Pécs, 2010’s European Capital of Culture.

There really is something for everyone this year in Hungary, with visitors being invited to join in an eclectic range of celebrations from classical music and contemporary art to spectacular battle re-enactments and Harley Davidson parades.

The Turf Club

Visit the Kincsem Park in the Turf Club where you may win experience as well as racing with all secrets behind the scenes…

The main racecourse of Hungary was founded in 1925 as a gallop track. After a redevelopment in 2005 it became the home of the Hungarian gallop as well as trotting racing.
The new grandstand seats 3.500 people; at the top floor of the building you can find a panoramic restaurant with a great view to the whole racetrack. Kincsem Park has one of the oldest parade rings in Europe where race goers may enjoy the shadow under the huge trees.
