Remember Eyjafjallajökull?

December 2010

A highly active program for groups of one hundred featuring a gala night to remember!

The group arrives in Iceland on a spring or summer early afternoon and enjoys a late welcome lunch at the hotel while luggage is brought to their rooms.

After a short time at leisure, the group is invited for an awards ceremony at one of our modern reception venues heated with geothermal power. This renewable energy source is a direct result of the ever-active volcanic activities in Iceland. Cocktails and canapés are served at the ceremony while Icelandic artists entertain the group in between speeches and presentations.

Continuing the theme of renewable energy, dinner is served in the famous restaurant The Pearl. This restaurant is set under a glass dome and built on top of four silver-colored water tanks, which guarded Reykjavík‘s surplus hot water supplies in former times.

The next morning, an impressive convoy of over 25 Super 4X4s awaits the group outside of the hotel. The group enjoys a day of Iceland‘s highlights, including the Thingvellir National Park, where they were greeted by a children‘s choir, the Geysir geothermal area and the Gullfoss waterfall, where a glass of sparkling wine and fruits was served by the waterfall.
The drivers of the 4X4s specifically seek out trails off the beaten track to demonstrate the awesome power of these vehicles and the talent of the drivers. During this adventure, incredible helicopter rides over various sites will provide the group with a bird‘s eye view of the Icelandic nature.

Following the informal theme of the day, dinner is served in the charming Iðnó restaurant - housed in a renovated theater building in downtown Reykjavík.

Today, the group members can choose their favorite activity, such as whale watching, horse back riding, white river rafting, quad-biking (ATVs) or a visit to the Blue Lagoon spa.

The farewell gala dinner is sure to be memorable. It takes Iceland‘s contrasting character to the fullest in an ICE and FIRE theme. The courtyard of The Reykjavík Art Museum is turned into a blazing volcano and fire show, while the hall at the opposite end of the house is turned into a chilling ice bar.

Outside of the museum the entrance is laden with torches. When the guests enter the museum they are greeted with smoking blue cocktails in the ice bar while images of glacial vistas are projected on the walls. While the group enjoys an icy cocktail, guests will start to hear a distant rumble. The sudden opening of a giant door reveals a large dark hall with smoking “volcanoes” and flaming lights.

This is the setting for the gala dinner, where acrobats and aerialists perform from the high ceiling and a fire-based show includes fire-eating, fire ropes, fans and flaming hula hops. The evening is a true experience that encompasses what Iceland is famous (or infamous) for – its volcanoes and glaciers.

Morning check-out and transportation to the airport for the return flight home country.

It has never been more exciting to see Iceland – more alive then ever!
