Mazurkas Travel, DMC Poland
Lodz – a new MICE destination...
February 2010

Destination:

The second largest city in Poland with 1.000.000 residents, Lodz maintains its position as one the most dynamically growing MICE destination in Poland.

The city attracts foreign investors and international companies, which open operational and financial centers in this fascinating place, full of the finest architectural monuments from turn of 19th and 20th centuries. Many former factories are being redesigned to serve as offices, lofts and cultural centers. The city is in constant movement.

Hotel:

If you are looking for something fresh, new and original in Poland, look no further than Lodz. The MICE infrastructure of Lodz is becoming more attractive every year. This year, a new 4* ANDEL’S Hotel with 278 rooms and a 1.300 square meter conference hall has opened after a careful renovation of the former Israel Poznanski factory. Housed in the giant red brick factory halls, this is probably the most extraordinary hotel in central Europe

Venue:

A few steps from the hotel, the eclectic Palace of Poznanski, with its stunning gardens, would be a great site for gala dinner or prestigious conference. Several magnificent halls, including a dining room, can be used for such a purpose.  At the end of the 19th Century, the palace belonged to the richest man in Poland and an event here would signal a prosperous future to attendees.

Program :

This July, Mazurkas Travel – DMC Poland has tried both of these venues for one of their top UK clients on the occasion of opening their operations center in Łódz.
The gala dinner program consisted of garden cocktails with a short performance by actors in period costumes while a classical music quartet played in the background.  After the cocktail reception, dinner was served and guests were treated to an extraordinary magic show, of course by a Łódz born magician, the vice champion of the world.

The affair left a deep and lasting impression of the city, venues, and program and – last, but not least – Mazurkas’s professionalism.
