“Personally Experienced”...

October 2010

Lights, Camera, Action! Bollywood (that’s Hollywood with a B) or Tinsel Town, the dream factory, the city of magic. Indian movies have long evoked the wildest of imaginations. We are often asked how we can take our guests into Bollywood and how travellers to India can experience a bit of the glitz and glamour that are associated with Indian Cinema.

Well, hold on to your seats. Leave behind all your perceptions and experiences of our forts & palaces, tigers & temples and be prepared for an assault on your senses like never experienced before. Be prepared to witness a spectacle so grand that it can only have came from your dreams.

From September 21, 2010 on, visitors to Delhi will be able to visit the country’s first and the ultimate entertainment and leisure destination. Sprawling across acres of land and ideally located in the area of the traditional Delhi-Agra-Jaipur circuit is the magnificent Kingdom of Dreams.
As the name implies, Kingdom of Dreams is a spectacular world of unparalleled imagination, offering a blend of India’s culture, heritage, art, crafts, cuisine and performing arts combined with the mind boggling technological wizardry of today. Kingdom of Dreams is designed and conceptualised to offer international and domestic tourists a breath-taking, magical Indian experience. It showcases modern and traditional India and present Indian culture in an entertaining format to all visitors. It offers you the best of India in the form of cuisine, crafts, musicals, dramas, carnivals, street dances, mythological shows and much more.

Nautanki Mahal is the venue for Bollywood-style musicals and theatre in the grand style of royals that will leave you breathless. They are an overwhelming and amazing magical experience. Showshaa Theatre presents Indian mythological shows such as Ram Lila & Krishna Lila in an awe-inspiring format enhanced with latest technology in the entertainment field. There will also be a mock Indian wedding, complete with Baarat and bride and groom. Visitors can take part and return from their travels with the memory of this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Culture Gully is a lavish, air-conditioned boulevard of multifarious Indian cultures, culinary delights and shopping experiences. You can visit the backwaters of Kerala, savour the taste of fenny in a quaint tavern in Goa, view the royal splendour of a Rajasthani Palace or enjoy the rustic charm of a Punjabi village - all in one place. Culture Gully captures the features of India and showcases its rich culture, architecture, crafts and traditions. You can interact with street performers, live artisans, magicians and folk dancers in addition to shopping, eating and taking part in other experiences such as palm reading, tea sipping and much more. For food lovers, Culture Gully is a gourmet’s paradise with authentic Indian cuisine from various regions. At the end of this magical experience, after you have satiated all your five senses, take a spiritual walk in our specially designed avenue that will bring you closer to your higher self.

I had the opportunity to see the preview show of “Zangoora – the Gypsy Prince”, the first production to be showcased at the Kingdom of Dreams. A two hour fusion of Indian cinema, music, lights, dances and special effects is truly unique. This is a product that we would most certainly recommend for any traveller coming in to the region. It adds a new dimension to the traditional Indian experience and provides an opportunity for the guest to get immersed in what we will call a true dream. There are also opportunities for special shows or venues for incentives and conferences.
