Our second news is about an important festival coming up in March – Holi.  India is a land of festivals and these give our groups opportunities to enhance their experience of this incredible country. We can even recreate many of these festivals for incentives and give them an opportunity to participate in our cultural heritage.

Holi is undoubtedly the most fun- filled boisterous of Hindu festivals. The colorful festival of Holi is celebrated during the spring season either late February or in early March. This festival has an ancient origin and celebrates the triumph of 'good' over 'bad'. The colorful festival bridges the social gap and renews sweet relationships. On this day, people hug and wish each other 'Happy Holi'. Holi is the festival of young hearts. Spraying colors, dancing on traditional Holi songs, musical drum beats and wild processions are the common scenes that one comes across during this festival

Holi celebration begins with lighting up of bonfire on the Holi eve. Numerous legends & stories associated with Holi celebration makes the festival more exuberant and vivid. It is the second most important festival of India after Diwali. Holi in India is a festival of fun and frolic and has been associated with the immortal love of Lord Krishna and Radha. The exuberance and the festivity of the season are remarkable.

This year Holi is being celebrated on Sunday, March 20th, 2011.

A third thing we would like to share is a unique opportunity of an experience at the “Top of the World”. Every now and then an incentive client will say that we want to do something that is truly spectacular, crazy and we have a great budget to spend on that. Envision standing between snow-capped peaks in the mightiest mountain range in the world. In this experience we fly guests in helicopters from Kathmandu Nepal for about 75 minutes deep into the Himalayas to a secluded spot at 14,200 feet in the region of Kongde, an area devoid of all signs of modernity. Lying in the shadow of Kongde Ri, a mountain in the Himalayas of eastern Nepal, the mountain is classified as a trekking peak, but it is considered one of the more difficult to climb. Here we touchdown for about 15 – 20 minutes for a spectacular view of Mt Everest. To give you an idea how remote this area, getting to Kongde requires an ten-hour, sherpa-guided trek through high alpine terrain from the nearest airport which is a 90 minutes flight by plane from Kathmandu. This is truly a remote and desolate part of the world and offers a truly one-of-a-kind incentive moment.

To put things in perspective on how high we go –

  • Altitude of New York City – 768 ft.
  • Altitude of Kathmandu City – 4,500 ft.
  • Altitude of Machu Picchu – 8,000 ft.
  • Altitude of Kongde (landing point) – 14,200 ft.
  • Altitude of Mt. Everest – 29,035 ft.

At the touchdown point we serve Champagne and Cheese. This is a great and fun experience for the guests. Never would they have imagined that they would be able to experience the mighty Himalayas with such grandeur and class.

That is a pretty impressive activity by any standard!!!
