Eilat on the Red Sea...

November 2015

Eilat - Israel's southernmost city, a busy port as well as a popular resort, is located at the northern tip of the Red Sea, on the Gulf of Eilat (or Gulf of Aqaba).
The city is adjacent to the Egyptian village of Taba to the south, the Jordanian port city of Aqaba to the east, and within sight of Saudi Arabia to the south-east, across the gulf.

Eilat’s arid desert climate is moderated by proximity to a warm sea. Temperatures often are in the high 30’s °C in summer and 21 °C in winter, while water temperatures range between 20 and 26 °C. The city's beaches, nightlife and desert landscapes make it a popular destination for domestic and international tourism.

The city offers the options to swim and snorkel – or semi to professional diving – where the magic of the underwater world is revealed.

A variety of sports activities are available such as parasailing, water skis, banana boats, jet skis, self-drive rangers, jeep tours to the dessert, rope park and camel riding as well as swimming with the Dolphins .

Special dinner events can be done as a BBQ while sailing on the Red Sea, a Nabataean theme dinner at the Camel Ranch or a breath taking visual and culinary experience at Solomon’s Pillars, at Timna Park.

Timna Park - during the day, the picturesque Timna Valley (park) is a UNESCO site of historical importance. Its copper mines are amongst the earliest in the world and date back 6,000 years.
Sites (within the park) include Solomon’s Pillars, the Egyptian Temple, the Mushroom and ancient rock inscriptions. One sees the dramatic scenery and fascinating sites while learning about the remarkable people who survived these stark conditions to produce copper for the Egyptian elite.
