Autumn in Turin, the first capital of Italy...

July 2015

Turin lies at the centre of the wonderful region of Piedmont, the land at the foot of the Alps with unique culinary traditions and specialities, like the Barolo wines or the Alba white truffle, just to mention few.

Enjoy a delightful visit to the Ducal and Royal Turin on foot, strolling along elegant streets and squares with splendid Baroque buildings to admire the Mole Antonelliana, Turin’s tallest lookout tower, the Palazzo Carignano, or the AccademiadelleScienzewhich houses the Egyptian Museum, second in the world after the one in Cairo and recently renovated, or the Galleria Sabauda, one of the most important museums in Italy for Flemish paintings.

Then on to the Galleria Subalpina and piazza Castello, heart of Savoyard Turin, and via Roma, the luxury shopping street. Don’t forget the Castle of Valentino, one of Turin's architectonic gems located at the heart of Parco del Valentino.

Besides “classical Turin”, do not miss the unique opportunity to attend an extraordinary and exclusive cooking class held at the historical palazzo “Città del Gusto”– literally the “Town of Taste”- by the worldly famous Gambero Rosso; or  discoverthe Juventus Legends Club and enjoy the new experience of a VIP Hospitality Suite at the Juventus Stadium, an exclusive stand and lounge with dedicated services that will make your next match at the stadium unforgettable!

Turin represents the “access door” to the Langhe, the land of castles and great wines: enjoy a unique journey by self-driven Ferrari or by delightful Vespas through breath-taking sceneries, wonderful food and people with an infectious passion for life!

Imagine stopping atthe Grinzane Cavour castle, the 13th century manor housing  the Regional Enoteca featuring all wines produced in the Piedmont Region; then on to Marchesi di Barolo, historical cellars to taste the King of Wines,  finally ending in Asti to enjoy the Asti Spumante, the first Italian sparkling wine invented by Carlo Gancia in 1859.

Don’t forget to taste the white truffle, the star of Alba, the lovely medieval town hosting in November the world famous “Truffle exhibition”; enjoy the exhilarating experience of truffle hunting where the hunter “the Trifulao” accompanied by his dog lead guests into the woods, searching for this precious mushroom, guided only by the dog’s exceptional sense of smell and by the intuition gathered during years of experience.

In the evening, a nice aperitif in the trendy multi-ethnic district area of San Salvario followed by a gourmet dinner at one of the many traditional restaurants such as Il Cambio or Tavernadell’Oca or to the contemporary gastronomic temple Combal.zero.

For your gala dinner, right in the immediate outskirts of Turin, the impressive Venaria Reale, one of the residences of the Royal House of Savoy included in the UNESCO Heritage List in 1997 or at the Castle of Rivoli, another residence of the Royal House of Savoy and currently home to the museum of contemporary art of Turin; or at the noble Palazzo Saluzzo Paesana.

Accommodations range from five-star hotels such as the contemporary Golden Palace (or the traditional Principe di Piemonte), to the four-star design hotel NH Piazza Carlina, the stylish Grand Hotel Sitea or the countryside retriet Villa Matilde.

Turin is approximately one hour and 45 minutes from Milan Malpensa airport; Le Caselle Turin airport offers connections to all major Italian and European cities.
