Karma House
Jordan, a Classic Destination...

July 2007

During the month of May this year, Jordan hosted 32 classic cars owners from different European Countries & some from North America with their classic cars, ranging from Bentley to Rolls Royce & other mythical top brands that toured the country.  This bi Annual event was launched in Jordan in 2003 and took place as: “The Jewel that is Jordan III”. Starting from city of Aqaba located on the Red Sea.

The cars where shipped in to the port of Aqaba, where a special company unloaded & stored the cars for 2 days in a safe & suitable storage area, till the guests arrived from the UK to pick up their beautiful rides, that took them around the Jewel that is Jordan for 15 days.  From Aqaba the trip went on to Wadi Rum the moon like Desert, home of Lawrence of Arabia, to descend down to the lowest spot on the face of this earth, the 400 meters below sea level situated Dead Sea, known as the first and largest natural spa in the world.

The gathering point at the Dead Sea served as a base from where visits were made to the north part of Jordan, where the high light of this part of the trip awaited the participants, the drive to the capital city of Amman, to attend a Royal Gala dinner at the Garden of King Hussein Private Club with the presence of Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdulah, Queen of Jordan, that welcomed the guests to our beautiful country.

After this Royal event, which proceeds were donated to charity, the next day they drove further north to visit the most preserved remains of Roman Civilization; the Roman City of Jerash with its temples, Roman Theatres, colonnaded street & one of its kind oval plaza.

The trip ended with a visit to the most praised jewel of Jordan. Petra, the Rose Red Rock City, home to the civilization of the Nabataeans.  This final event was combined with a seated Gala Dinner under the stars in front of an old Nabataean temple build 2000 years ago.  This venue erected in the Rose Red Rocky Mountains at the Little Petra was the first stop where the camel caravans queued, and rested before entering the Nabataean Empire of Petra to trade goods.

The tour was organized by the founder of Jewel Events, Mr. Jonathon Lyons, and for the third consecutive time by Karma House for all travel facilities and was fully supported by the Ministry of Tourism.

The Director of Karma House, Ms. Ghada Najjar, stressed the importance of this event’s third edition and she added that although this may seem a sporting event, yet it offers an imperative opportunity to introduce the participants to the Jordan tourism product and the marvels it has to offer.
