George Cross Commemoration
September 13th, 2017

On 15 April 1942, at the height of World War II, a heavily bombed Malta was awarded the George Cross Medal by King George VI, “to honor her brave people... to bear witness to a heroism and devotion that will long be famous in history”. This event is commemorated yearly by a ‘son-et lumière’ in the very same square where the actual conferment took place.

 

The Malta International Air Show
September 23rd-24th, 2017

Held annually each September since 1993, at the Malta International Airport (ex: RAF Luqa), the Malta International Air Show hosts many aircraft that come from all over the world. Some of the aircraft are military while others vary from one another according to purpose.

 

The Malta Classic
October 5th-8th, 2017

Spread over four exhilarating days, The Malta Classic is an annual four-day classic car event celebrating vintage style against an historic backdrop. Opening with the Hill Climb—a pure adrenaline rush of cars racing to climb a magnificent limestone hill overlooking the Mediterranean Sea ending to a racing circuit. Drivers and spectators love the Malta Classic Grand Prix alike.

 

The Notte Bianca
October 7th, 2017

Notte Bianca, Malta’s beloved nightlong arts and culture festival sees the capital’s streets and cultural venues come alive thanks to a carefully designed program of events offering a variety of entertainments and experiences.

 

Birgufest
October 13th-15th, 2017

Birgufest is held over three days to offer a great variety of entertainment against a very rich historical backdrop. On Saturday, the street lights of Birgu are switched off and thousands of candles are lit instead. On both Friday and Saturday, the Programme will include a varied street and stage entertainment. Maltese food is also on offer.
