Nepal: An incentive at the top of the World

December 2017

An interesting mix of options ranging from culture, religion, mountains and wildlife...

Surrounded by the greatest heights of the Himalaya, the Kingdom of Nepal is a land of eternal attraction, a place where one visit is hardly ever enough. It's a land of colourful cultures, ancient history and people, superb scenery and some of the best walking on earth.

An ancient little country nestling in the lap of the magnificent Himalayan ranges, Nepal is a land of endless fascination. Today, Nepal is an amazing amalgam of Hindu and Buddhist traditions and modern vibrancy.

Nepal makes for an engaging and unique incentive destination. It offers an interesting mix of options ranging from culture, religion, mountains and wildlife. All within an hour of each other. Few destinations can offer such a diversity of activities in the same region.

Nepal is well connected to Europe through the Middle East apart from the rest of Asia. Kathmandu is the main gateway. Landlocked between India and Tibet, Nepal contains eight of the world's 10 highest peaks, including the mighty Mount Everest.
At Lumbini was born Gautama Buddha, the founder of Buddhism. The tempo of the trip drops the minute you land and take in the fresh mountain air. The serenity of being nestled in the folds of the mighty Himalayas is an experience unparalleled.

Kathmandu valley and its three Kingdoms of Kathmandu, Patan & Bhaktapur still hum with the traditions and energies of the times immemorial. The winding lanes are filled with traditional artisans selling their wares. If you are lucky, you will receive audience with the Living Goddess or get to see a local procession celebrating one of the multitudes of festivals that mark the Hindu calendar.

Fly 30 mins to the folds of the mountains to the lake side town of Pokhara.
Imagine a perfect triangular mountain, capped by snow and buffeted by the icy winds of the Himalaya. Imagine a millpond calm lake, perfectly reflecting the snowy peaks. Now imagine a village on the lakeshore, thronged by travellers and reverberating to the sounds of Buddhist chants from a hundred shops selling prayer flags, carpets, mask sand singing bowls. From here your guests can enjoy a leisurely walk in the country side or endure a gruelling trek up the side of a mountain. There are options for serene boat rides or fun bicycle excursions.

If you have the time then don?t miss the Chitwan National Park. This huge and beautiful nature reserve protects 932 sq km of Sal forest, water marshes and rippling grassland. The park is one of the last refuges of the endangered one-horned Indian rhino and there are sizeable populations of tigers, leopards and rare Gangetic dolphins. Traversing the forests in search of a tiger on the back of an elephant is an unforgettable experience.
