The Norwegian Winter Wonderland – now even better!

A new hotel will open in December 2011 in the ski resort town of Trysil, which is regarded as the premier ski resort in Norway. The area, situated some two and a half hours north of Oslo boast 66 slopes in four areas connected by 31 lifts on three sides of the mountain.

The Park Inn Trysil Mountain Resort will open its doors in December 2011 with close to 1,000 beds with a combination of hotel rooms, suites and apartments. A fully equipped spa and swimming pool, saunas, restaurants, bars and a 500 sq. meter banquet hall will complement the property and make it the best ski resort hotel in Norway.


The city of Oslo – now even more accessible!

Qatar Airways will start flying non-stop between Doha and Oslo five times per week starting 5 October, 2011.

Departure from Doha will be at 8.25 am on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays with arrival in Oslo at 2.40 pm. The return from Oslo will be at 4.10 pm with arrival in Doha at 11.55 pm.

Qatar Airways will use an Airbus A330 with two classes on the route. The airline has an extensive network of direct flights to Doha.


Bergen, the “Gateway to the Fjords of Norway” – now with more hotels!

Billions of Norwegian Kroner are being invested in new hotels in Bergen! Several new hotel projects are currently under construction in Bergen. We can expect a total of over 1,000 new rooms and 2,000 new beds in the city by 2013, an increase of almost 25%. Several of the projects include facilities that will improve Bergen’s attractiveness on the international MICE market. The new projects are:

  • Total makeover and extensions to the Radisson Blu at Bryggen (4 stars), boasting 370 brand new rooms.
  • A new Rica Hotel (4 stars) near the train station with 400 rooms.
  • A new First Hotel (4 stars) at FleslandAirport with 250 rooms.
  • A new 300 room hotel in connection with the planned congress & exhibition centre with a meeting capacity of more than 2,000 persons. (Opens early 2014).
