Poland by Night!

August 2007

The present Polish capital is a modern bustling city full of life night and day. It is a commonplace that Warsaw by day is a great city with magnificent monuments, the Old Town, castles, parks and palaces as well as with ultramodern structures designed by world famous architects like Sir Norman Foster. But Warsaw - this prefect mixture of tradition and state of the art attractions – presents also to visitors its other face – the night one.

Poland is famous for its contemporary jazz composers and performers.Warsaw is the best place to discover this. The best Jazz night club in the city is Tygmont located in the heart of Warsaw’s night life – Mazowiecka Street, a few blocks from the Old Town area and several 5 star hotels. There are live concerts of contemporary Jazz music performed by the most famous Polish Jazz composers who live in the city. After the concert – a wide variety of night clubs located nearby like Paparazzi, Zoo, Enklawa, Cinnamon invite all those, who love partying at the most trendy places of Poland’s capital.

Another possibility for the beer lovers is to start in the traditional breweries/pubs of the Polish capital. We suggest starting this evening at Browarmia – the biggest mini-brewery of the city with two levels of beer halls, where they serve four kinds of home made beer including the notorious dark one. This place is located just a few steps from the Old City, where several famous pubs are located, including the first Irish Pub established in Eastern Europe and the CK Brewery – a typical beer restaurant with excellent food and live music.

Last but not least, – a short ride to visit another district of Warsaw- , located at the opposite side of the Vistula River, Praga, where the biggest night club of Polish capital is located. The place is called Fabryka Trzciny (“The Cane Factory”) housed in a building of 19th century steel factory with its live disco, concerts and theater performances every night.
Sorry…almost forgotten  - this year the first Hard Rock Café has been opened in Poland, perfectly situated in the heart of the city, in the Golden Terraces Mall, just next to the symbol of the city - a post Communist skyscraper, Palace of the Culture and Science.

And what about the historical capital of Poland - Cracow. The evening should start with a visit to the Jazz club ”U Muniaka”. The club was named after Janusz Muniak – one of the most famous Polish Jazz artists who lived in the city.  After the concert one can visit a wide variety of night clubs within the UNESCO World Heritage listed Old Town area (all together more than 50!). The absolute top and trendy places are: Stalowe Magnolie (“The Iron Magnolias”), Piano Rouge – at the Old Town Square, Wielopole and many others. The majority of the clubs are located in mysterious Gothic cellars in the Old Town; however the interior designs are modern.
The other night life area of Cracow is the former Jewish District – Kazimierz – especially Plac Nowy (“The New Square”) extremely popular with locals and local artists including plenty of pubs and nigh clubs. Definitely worth recommendation are Alchemia (“The Alchemy”) and Singer.

Both cities offer almost unlimited possibilities for those who love partying, an absolute plus for incentives & meetings participants looking for a good fun and great atmosphere after a tiring day. Good luck and unforgettable nights!
