Romania...

Vineyards, Good Food and Great Landscapes!

A land of great wines – Urlați, Ceptura, Valea Calugarească – the Northern Wallachia gathers an abundant and flavored cuisine, within the monasteries and the villages spread over the valleys, delicious soups and stews, unique corn bread and various sorts of cheese.

We taste the best wines from the region (Feteasca Neagra red wine is a must!) and visit two beautiful wine cellars, we visit 500 years old monasteries, we check out the local architecture, we see how the rich landlords used to live centuries ago and, nevertheless, we leave the urban dusty gray of Bucharest and hide into the symphony of colors in Dealu Mare landscape.

Suggested Tour itinerary:
Day 1: Ghighiu – Râfov – Pantazi – Valea Călugărească – Arionești – Urlați – Plavia – Valea Crângului
Day 2: Valea Crângului – Ceptura – Urlați – Jercălăi – Vărbila – Gâlmeia – Seciu – Pleașa – Chițorani – Corlătești – Ghighiu

Highlights:

  • Wine tasting at two traditional wine cellars
  • Visit of a local wine producer
  • Traditional lunch & dinner in the courtyard, prepared by locals
  • Visiting three old monasteries: Ghighiu, Jercălăi and Vărbila
  • Scenic panoramas from top of the hills

Balneary Tourism!

Balneary Tourism does not only address people with medical problems but also those who want to relax and find vitality and a good physical, mental and spiritual condition.

It is known that Romania disposes of great wealth of resources with therapeutic value: mineral waters, pits, mud and therapeutic lakes spread throughout the country, in different climatic areas.

Romania joins other European countries with remarkable balneary funds although Romanian balneary tourism mixes old tradition with rich new development.

The Felix Baths Resort is the biggest balneary resort with permanent schedule from Romania, being on second place after Black Sea littoral, about number of accommodations in Romania.

Because of the high number of mineral salts, the doctors recommend the treatments or the cures with the resort waters. The climate with gentle winters and mild summers favors the existence of a large forest that gives the resort an ideal atmosphere in any season, being a good place relaxation and treatment that the rain and cold does not represent an impediment for an outdoor bath with geothermal water.

Turda Saline:

Turda Saline currently holds a treatment hall, an amphitheater, a gym and also a ‘’panoramic wheel’’ where you can admire the salt stalactite. The main attraction of the saline is the lake with saturated saline liquid which is good for treatment. The underground treatment from the saline is known as speleo-therapy, representing a healing and improvement source of some respiratory and ORL affections. The balneary part of Turda Saline is represented by a modern treatment base equipped with performed equipment offering high level conditions for healing.
