January 2012


Destination Geneva

Day 1:
Arrival at GenevaAirport in the morning/afternoon (depending of the flight booked) and transfer to your Geneva hotel by private minibus with an English speaking assistant.
At the hotel, present yourself at hospitality desk in order the make your check-in and receive general information about Geneva.
In the evening, walking transfer in a restaurant for dinner.
Overnight in the hotel.

Day 2:
Transfer in the morning to Tash train station in order to take train to Zermatt resort. Check-in at the hotel and free time to discover the resort on your own.
Briefing in the lobby of the hotel with your mountain guide in order to receive information on the itinerary, check your materials and receive the departure time for the hiking tour.
Dinner in the hotel & overnight.

Day 3-6:
Departure from the hotel for the hiking tour of four days and three nights.
With more than 400 km of marked hiking and walking trails, Zermatt, Täsch and Randa offer a wide range of options for hiking fans. The mountain railways make it possible to effortlessly reach altitudes up to 3,000 metres above sea level. The areas in Täsch and Randa, with breath-taking views of the Weisshorn and the peaks of the Mischabel group, are recommended to those who like to walk up to higher altitudes. Incidentally, 90% of the area consists of nature reserves of international and national importance.
The walks are adapted to the difficulties of physical abilities of each new group. The hiking guide will adapt walks & cable cars.
First overnight at Fluhalphut lodge (2’620m), second night at Hotel Riffelberg (2’600m) and last night at hotel Schwarsee(2’583m).
Lunch will be served in the mountain restaurant in case of bad weather or with a lunch box for the picnic in the wild if weather is fine.
All dinners will be served in your mountain's lodge or hotel.

Day 6:
After the last hiking, return to Zermatt hotel. 
Check-in, dinner in the hotel & overnight.

Day 7:
Departure from the hotel on your own to take train down to Täsch.
Meet SM Travel guide and your private minibus at the Tasch station for your departure to Montreux. Guided visit of the Medieval Castle of Chillon before a panoramic tour of Montreux. Stop at St Saphorin Caveau for a local wine tasting. Then, continue to Lausanne with lunch in a local restaurant. After the lunch, panoramic visit of Lausanne before continuing on to Geneva Airport or Geneva hotel.
Dinner on your own and overnight.

Day 8:
Check-out and transfer to Geneva airport

 

Destination Zurich

Day 1:
Arrival at Zurich Airport in the afternoon (depending of the flight booked) and transfer to your Zurich Hotel by private minibus with an English speaking assistant.
At the hotel, present yourself at hospitality desk in order the make your check-in and receive general information about Zurich.
In the evening, transfer to a local restaurant for the dinner. Overnight in the hotel.

Day 2:
Transfer in the morning to St Moritz resort. Check-in at the hotel and free time to discover the resorton your own.
Briefing in the lobby of the hotel with your mountain guide in order to receive general information and departure time for the hiking tour.
Dinner in the hotel and overnight.

Day 3:
Departure from the hotel by bus to Corvatsch station and with cable car up to Murtel Station (2’699m). Hike (just walk without breaks) 01.00hrs to Fuorcla Surlej (2’755m) where you will have lunch. Hike 02.30hrs to Chamanna Coaz (2’610m) with dinner and overnight.

Day 4:
After breakfast, 03.00hrs hike from Chamanna Coaz (2’610m) down to Val Roseg (beautiful flora). From hotel Roseg (1’999m), 01.00hrs by horses to Pontresina station (1’805m). By train to Morteratsch (1’896m) with 02.30hrs hike to Boval Hut (2’495m) with dinner and overnight.

Day 5:
Glacier hike from Boval hut (2’495m) over the Morterartschglacier, Isla Persa (2’720m), Persglacier up to Diavolezza hut where you will enjoy a spectacular view over the Berninamassiv with Piz Palü (3’901m), Piz Bernina (4’049m), Biancograt and Piz Morteratsch (3’751m). Here for the dinner, a delicious cheese fondue will be served in a cosy atmosphere. Overnight.

Day 6:
Go down to the bottom station of Diavolezza (2’120m) by cable car and walk 01.30hrs along the fantastic UNESCO Bernina line (fauna watching) to Alp Grüm (2’103m) where you can look over hole Puschlav. After a break continue down during 01.00hrs to Cavaglia (1’703m) – beautiful flora – where you will visit the “Gletschermühlen” (Garden Glacier) while you guide explain you more details about the glacier. Then, take the train back to St Moritz. Check-in, dinner in the hotel and overnight.

Day 7:
Departure from the hotel with an English speaking guide and private minibus to Stein. Tour of the Appenzeller cheese factory including a cheese tasting after the visit. Then, continue to St Gallen with lunch in a local restaurant. Then, rapid visit of St Gallen before continuing on to Zurich Airport or Zurich hotel.
Dinner on your own and overnight.

Day 8:
Check-out and transfer to Zurich airport.
