Professor Stefano D\'Anna in Istanbul

Professor Stefano D\'Anna, a pragmatic dreamer, a philosopher of action, a figure of visionary entrepreneurship and the author of three books: Berlusconi in Concert, The Individual Revolution, and The School for Gods has held his second workshop on Integrity in Istanbul. Organized by ODS, the 2-day courses examining the importance of integrity in  today’s organizations was held at the seaside mansion of Sait Halim Pasha, a beautiful ornate wooden villa on the shores of the Bosporus. Managers and decision makers from many different business fields attended the seminar and workshop which ended with the musical talents of some of the attendees.

Standard & Poors

Credit Rating Agency Standard & Poor’s Seminar on “Managing Credit Risk in Turkey” was held in Istanbul on 16 January 2007 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. State Minister and EU Head negotiator Ali Babacan also joined the seminar.

Novartis

Following two busy days in the Congress of Cardiology which was held between 2-4 February 2007 at the Istanbul Convention and Exhibition Center I.C.E.C., the Novartis group enjoyed an evening at one of the roof top restaurants at the Taksim Square.

Meeting Point

ODS and Turkey’s biggest Cinema chain AFM have teamed up to bring Meetings Closer Clearer and more Cost Effective to companies around the country. With over 150 theatres located in 11 cities, companies can now reach out to their branches, employees and customers more frequently, in a more dynamic, professional and technologically advanced way, making results more profitable. We are currently preparing the website of our new born project “Meeting Point” which will be up and running by the end of next month.

International Film Festival

Having celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2006, the Istanbul Film Festival is going strong, attracting 85,000 viewers every year. The program covers everything from art, culture and feature films to literature, music and theatre. This years Film Festival will take place between 31st March and 15th April 2007.

International Music Festival

For the International Istanbul Music Festival, two main venues are used, the Hagia Eirene Museum and the Ataturk Cultural Center. Visitors should make sure to attend a classical or traditional music concert inside the 4th-century St Irene\'s Church, the first ever to be built by Emperor Constantine.
Mozart enthusiasts should make sure of seeing Japanese pianist Mitsuko Uchida playing with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, while Bach fans can look forward to an evening of the Goldberg Variations. Also look out for the locally acclaimed Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra, accompanying Romanian soprano Angela Gheorghiu.
This year, Music Festival will take place between 2nd and 30th June 2007.

Sheraton Hotel in Istanbul Again

Former Mövenpick now The Istanbul Princess Hotel located at the new business district of Maslak is getting ready to re-open as the Sheraton Istanbul Maslak following an extensive renovation. The new 305 guestrooms will feature the Sheraton Sweet Sleeper beds, an ergonomically superior work area with a roomy chair and desk as well as wireless Internet access. Guests will relax in the hotel\'s fully refurbished and redesigned lobby. The complete renovation of the hotel entrance, the all-day dining restaurant, lobby bar, roof bar and café will be completed by mid-2007. The fine dining restaurants, themed bar, casual dining restaurant, patisserie and all meeting rooms are expected to be finished by March 2008.

W Hotels heads for the heart of Istanbul

W Hotels will open in late 2007 at the historical row of buildings located near the Dolmabahce Palace, constructed by Sultan Adbulaziz in the 1870\'s to house workers of the Palace. The W Istanbul will have approximately 130 rooms, including suites and duplex suites, many with their own private gardens.

Another landmark turned Hotel

The historic Maçka Palace will be transformed into Park Hyatt Maçka Palace by late 2007. The luxury boutique hotel will have 85 guest rooms, 5 penthouses suited, a spa, state of the art fitness center and Istanbul’s first steakhouse.

Mövenpick Hotels Expand in Turkey

Following Mövenpick’s first boutique property at Istanbul’s business district in 2003, the Swiss international chain will open its second property Mövenpick Suited & Spa in the prime residential district by mid 2008 followed by a Resort property in Bodrum.

Infamous Pera Palace under Renovation

Historic Pera Palace, hotel for the distinguished guests of the Orient Express, has closed its doors for the first time after 132 years, on November 1st. The hotel will go through an extensive renovation for approximately 1.5 years after which it will be an ultra luxurious hotel. Historic furniture of the hotel will be protected.

Çiragan Palace under Renovation

Home to Ottoman Sultans and Grand Viziers for many years before it was burnt down in 1910; Çiragan palace was renovated to its former glory in 1991 under the Management of Kempinski Hotels. The Palace is once again under renovation which will combine the historical grandeur of the Palace with modern technology and eclectic design. After the renovation business and social venues will increase. The project is planned to conclude within the first week of April 2007.
