10th Year of Excellence comes along with the festive season...

May 2009

“Count your age by friends, not years, Count your life by smiles not tears.”

Dear Friends,

This spring it will be ten years ago that we set out on a new road ahead and founded ODS. Counting the days, or years, is not something we normally do, but when we realized our tenth anniversary was coming up, a little reflection was in order.

Back in 1999, when we started the company, we were well versed in the beauties our destination had to offer. Little did we know of the challenges that lay ahead. The last ten years have been intense and challenging for all of us and the effects of the eruptions on the world stage have been felt in Turkey also.

However, when we think back, it is not the challenges that come to mind, but rather the many friends we made, and the opportunities we have been granted.

We are very grateful for the friendship and support you all so generously showed us. Knowing we are all on this adventurous road together has made our journey an especially worthwhile one.

It is in this spirit that we celebrate our tenth anniversary and would like to say to you:

“Thank you, it has been an honor knowing you and working with you”.

Warm regards,

Hasan and Sadik

The 11th International Istanbul Biennial will take place between 12 September-8 November 2009 with as central theme, \"What Keeps Mankind Alive?\" borrowed from the closing song of the second act of Bertolt Brecht\'s The Three Penny Opera, written 80 years ago. The conceptual framework of the 11th International Istanbul Biennial \"What Keeps Mankind Alive?\" aims to serve as a trigger, as well as a certain script for the exhibition, allowing viewers and the artists to reflect on today’s topics of economic and social urgency.
