Giving At The Community Grocery Project
Premio DMC – euromic Costa Rica
The Nicoya Peninsula is one of five regions in the world referred to as a “blue zone”, home to some of the oldest and healthiest people on the planet. Not only is it common to outlive the age of 100 but to thrive -neither bedridden nor hospital-dependent, but fit, active, and living life to the fullest.
Over 150 employees of an American privately held information technology company, and their spouses/guests collected donations and delivered food supplies and essential goods for the elderly, over 100 years old that live in this area of Guanacaste, Costa Rica.
The attendees had the opportunity to learn about the richness and the secrets of this particular blue zone through an inspiring photo gallery of the centenarians and an engaging talk, while contributing to their well-being by assembling baskets of food supplies and hygiene products to donate, since some of the elderly live under poverty conditions. 75 baskets were hand-delivered to the community in partnership with Asociacion Peninsula de Nicoya Zona Azul.
