The 3-country drive from Cambodia to Myanmar was a wonderful 24-day rally. From Sihanoukville into Thailand via Surin and then passing nine days in Thailand until finally crossing into Myanmar at Mae Sai border in Chiang Rai where we past the 11 remaining days.
Highlights in Thailand included participating in Loy Krathong, the Floating Festival of Lights, the visit of Sukhothai Historical Park, one of Thailand's UNESCO World Heritage sites, the driving around the 1,864 curves from Maehongson to Chiang Mai along the Myanmar/Thailand border, the rest stop at the exquisite Dhara Dhevi in Chiang Mai, and the vast Singha Park in Chiang Rai.
Thailand and neighboring countries provide great options for memorable road trips, with less discovered sights during off-the-beaten routes on fine roads and “highways”, charming cultural encounters, tasty indigenous cuisines and too many more reasons to enjoy, these countries again and again.
