Holguin destination is distinguished by its authenticity, diversity and high level of sustainability, and stands out for its picturesque reliefs of great scenic value, loaded with cultural symbols as it is a platform for dialogue between cultures and man with nature

This province is actually the for-tourist destination in Cuba, it goes along with the capital of the province (with the same name) and different beaches areas.
It was in this area of Cuba (Bariay) where Christopher Columbus landed in 1492, who was fascinated by its beauty and called it “the most beautiful land that human eyes have seen”.

The extraordinary beauty, the blue-green hue of its waters, and the white sand are attributes that identify the beaches of the north of Holguín, a region generously benefited by nature and history that demonstrates the excellence of its beaches areas as Guardalavaca, Don Lino, Pesquero and Esmeralda.

For those who appreciate the art and science of maritime navigation, the northern coast of Holguín offers a space to discover the beautiful coral reefs with 49 sites for diving enthusiasts.

Other places to be visited in the province are La Periquera Museum, Loma de la Cruz, Marqueta square; Cities Banes and Gibara; Park Bariay (National Monument); Archaeological site Chorro de Maíta, viewpoint of Mayabe, Bahía de Naranjo Natural Park; Cayo Saetía and Pinares de Mayarí among others

Holguin was recently the venue of the XXXVII edition of the International Fair of Tourism of Cuba (FITCUBA 2017), the most important professional event in the Cuban tourist industry, with Germany as an invited country and with the presence of more than 2000 participants.

During FITCUBA 2017 the location of Gibara, known as the “White Villa of the Crabs”, was launched as a new destination in the province. The small town has 3 boutique hotels and is the venue of the International Film Festival of Gibara that was realized the last month of April.

In the beach area we have more than 5000 rooms. We want to suggest you these 3 venues:

  • The Playa Pesquero Hotel is a majestic five-star resort, located on the north coast of Holguín that with its 1000 rooms, combines the natural beauty of the place, with ample spaces for leisure and traditional local culture reflected in its architecture and decoration.
  • Paradisus Río de Oro Resort & SPA is located in the natural Park Bahia del Naranjo, in Esmeralda Beach. Eco-resort five stars ultra-all-inclusive with 354 rooms. Located in front of an impressive coral reef rich in flora and fauna, large Lobby Reproducing Aboriginal Village and Botanic garden and natural orchid that propitiate the observation of endemic birds
  • Memories Holguin is an all-inclusive hotel with 531 rooms, located on Yuraguanal Beach, 15 kilometers from Guardalavaca and 10 kilometers from the dolphin bay of Naranjo. Its architecture, flora, fauna and decoration evoke a typical Spanish hacienda of the end of the 19th century.
