euromic hosts it’s first long haul Annual General Meeting in Argentina

For the first time in it’s 47 year history, euromic members voted to hold the Annual General Meeting outside of the Mediterranean and Europe and instead decided to go long haul to the amazing city of Buenos Aires Argentina.

For 3 days in January over 40 of the association’s members reflected on 2018 and also planned and strategized the year ahead for the association. 3 Themed days reflected the essence of Argentina in the form of Football, Tango and Polo all flawless executed and delivered by Merina Begg and her team at Argentina Travel Partners. euromic also recognized it’s stars with Yulia Lekomtseva from Spanish Heritage – euromic Spain being awarded Young leader of the year and Pascal Roulland from Holt Paris Welcome Service - euromic France being awarded Member of the Year.

Michal Argiri – Concept Tours - euromic Greece was voted in and welcomed as a new board member replacing Anna Nagy – Walpax – euromic Brazil who completed her two year tenure on the board.

Hasan Dinc euromic president said “The initial concerns of choosing a long haul destination for our AGM were easily overcome, Argentina and Argentina travel Partners delivered a phenomenal event that will remain with us forever”  

2019 looks increasingly positive with over 80% of our Members reporting an increase in business performance over last year. Euromic is also extremely proud of our members accomplishments proving that we have some of the best Destination Management specialists in the world, recently at the recent Annual General Meeting of AFECA - Asian Federation of Exhibition and Convention Associations, CDM Conference & Destination Management - euromic Thailand was awarded for their organization and management by winning first prize in the Outstanding Congress/Convention category for the WTTC Global Summit 2017.  We are also pleased to announce Compass tours – euromic Germany has been appointed as the new Ground handler for IMX Frankfurt. Mazurkas congress & conference Management – euromic Poland also recently successfully hosted the United Nations Climate Change conference  COP24 in Katowice.

euromic increases the number of Certified Incentive Travel Professionals C.I.T.P to 10

euromic is pleased to announce that another 8 of our members have been certified as CITPs after successfully completing the Society of Incentive Travel Excellence qualification exam.

Have all joined Daryl Keywood – Walthers DBS South Africa and Rajeev Kohli – Creative Travel India in obtaining their CITP qualification, this means that over 20% of euromic members are CIPT qualified with others planning on sitting the exam at IMEX Frankfurt.  Huw Tuckett executive director said of the certification , “we take education and personal development seriously at euromic , the CITP is a way to differentiate ourselves and improve the knowledge of our members and of the industry in general, it’s important our clients are aware that when we say we know incentive travel , we know incentive travel ! “
