Why Malaysia is the best place for your incentive trip

A euromic team of Huw Tuckett, Executive Director of Euromic, Kathy Lavery, BDM South Africa and Pamela Shepherd BDM USA, had the opportunity of a lifetime to experience Malaysia highlights in a familiarisation trip, prior to the Euromic annual AGM, to gain insights from firsthand experience on why Malaysia is an ideal choice for you as a MICE destination.

Here’s what Kathy’s found out:

Malaysia, living up to its byline “Truly Asia” boasts vibrant culture, stunning landscapes, and modern amenities. From the bustling streets of Kuala Lumpur to tranquil beaches of Langkawi, and rich, cultural history of Penang, Malaysia offers diverse experiences to suit every incentive’s taste and budget across all demographics.

With world-class hotels, including all-inclusive options, delectable cuisine, and a plethora of activities ranging from jungle trekking to island hopping, to enjoying the delights of duty-free shopping… Malaysia provides the perfect blend of adventure, relaxation, romance, and cultural immersion to ignite a true passion for Southeast Asia and the warmth and hospitality of its people.

First stop was an escape to the tropical paradise of Langkawi, where pristine beaches, lush rainforests, and stunning landscapes awaited us. Having the opportunity to explore the iconic Sky Bridge, by an impressive cable car ride to the top of “Gunung Mat Cincang” for breathtaking views, was a true highlight as well as the Kilim mangrove tour by boat to see a different side of Langkawi, cruising through mangrove forest with the local sea eagles hovering above us, truly unforgettable!

The Ritz Carlton Langkawi and Park Royal Hotel showcased their wide range of accommodation options, from staying at luxury resorts to lunching at charming boutique hotels. Langkawi also showcased some fantastic conference hotel options and all-inclusive resorts, ticking every MICE box imaginable!

Just a short flight from Langkawi is the charming island of Penang and discovered a melting pot of cultures, flavours, and encounters. Known as the “Pearl of the Orient,” Penang is famous for its vibrant street art, colonial architecture, and mouthwatering cuisine.

We explored the UNESCO World Heritage Site of George Town, via trishaw, the only way to travel!  We strolled along the historic Clan Jetties, checked out Khoo Kongsi, an ornate clan temple and museum amongst other sights and sounds and celebrated the weekend by the vibrant street food market and nightlife of the city! Penang blesses any visitor with the ultimate cultural immersion experience!

Kuala Lumpur was the final stop, a metropolis where modernity meets tradition, a cultural Melting Pot reflecting Malaysia’s diverse population. A radiant city of neighbourhoods like Chinatown, Little India, and Kampung Baru offering a rich tapestry of cuisines, traditions, and festivals. We had an absolute blast exploring intriguing markets, sampled authentic street style restaurants, and immersed ourselves in the city’s multicultural heritage.

“KL” offers world-class shopping, a real shopper’s paradise, with an array of malls, markets, and boutiques catering to every taste and budget, so much to see and do in one place, it’s “next level” impressive!

One of our highlights was an experience of dinner at the Petroleum Club, inside the iconic attraction, the Petronas Twin Towers, affectionately known as the KLCC – an exclusive option open to you and your group offered by euromic Malaysia Prime HTT
