Our nice new hotel in Nice

Hotel du Couvent

This summer, Nice unveils a new and precious gem — the Hotel du Couvent. Nestled discreetly within the ancient heart of Nice, this former convent, erected by the Clarisses in 1604, is poised to rekindle a sense of serenity and contemplation amongst the vibrant pulse of one of the south of France’s most spirited cities.

The Hotel du Couvent offers an array of accommodations, each with its own distinct character. From monastic-style cells to rooms graced with balconies overlooking gardens, the cityscape, or the azure Mediterranean, guests find solace in diverse havens. For those seeking more spacious retreats, apartments spanning up to 166 square meters beckon, complete with generous kitchens. With 88 rooms averaging 45 square metres, the hotel caters to every individual need.

Spectacular culinary delights will be served up in the cloister restaurant, the Guinguette café, and the bistro on Rue des Serruriers.

And there is a most enchanting secret too, hidden behind the stone walls: a 2.5-acre garden, veiled from prying eyes. Here, a Mediterranean paradise grows, boasting over 300 species of trees, fragrant herbs, and vibrant vegetables, many of which are destined for guests’ plates.

A pool and a spectacular view over the rooftops of Nice completes this paradise and makes this a remarkable new addition to the French hotel scene.

Playing a part in the Normandy landing commemorations

Holt DMC France had the honour of partnering with American Airlines to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the historic Normandy landings. This week-long event unfolded against the picturesque backdrop of both Paris and Normandy, bringing together a remarkable assembly of 300 individuals. Among them were 68 esteemed US veterans, whose valour and sacrifice played an indelible role in securing freedom during World War II.

The highlight of the commemoration was the bilateral ceremony uniting France and the United States. Against the backdrop of the Normandy beaches, where history was etched in blood and sand, representatives from both nations stood side by side. Their shared commitment to liberty and democracy was palpable, bridging the decades that separated them.

Behind the scenes, Holt DMC worked tirelessly to ensure flawless coordination and seamless transportation for the entire group. From arranging comfortable transfers to orchestrating logistics, their expertise allowed the focus to remain squarely on honouring these remarkable veterans.  Holt DMC’s role in this momentous occasion was more than logistical — it was a testament to the enduring spirit of remembrance, unity, and gratitude.

Let the games commence – Paris 2024

Paris is ready to host one of the biggest sporting events on the planet, and Holt will be involved in much of the action – providing logistics, accommodations and much more of course: we’re not entering the sporting events! For the first time in the history of the modern Olympics, the ceremony will be held in the city rather than in a stadium. Celebrations are being organised in every arrondissement of the city – the distinct districts that make up Paris – with the biggest fanzone set up at Trocadero, but each arrondissement is keen to take part, and games and festivities are being organized everywhere. It will be a 15 day party! We are ready to welcome you! Come and join the party !
