In Asturias, Spain, the vibrant coastal city of Gijón beautifully combines a rich maritime heritage with modern appeal. Surrounded by picturesque green hills and the Cantabrian Sea, Gijón boasts breathtaking natural scenery, including sandy beaches and verdant parks. The city thrives as a cultural centre, featuring a lively arts scene, historical sites such as the Roman Baths and Revillagigedo Palace, and bustling markets highlighting local cuisine. Gijón’s welcoming ambiance, diverse urban attractions, and close connection to nature create a distinctive destination where tradition blends seamlessly with contemporary living.

The journey began at the NH hotel, where visitors were welcomed with breathtaking sea views and a welcoming drink from the NH family. The day included healthy bike rides through scenic landscapes, followed by a visit to Casa Trabanco for a cheese and cider tasting workshop before dinner. The next day, the group immersed themselves in Gijón’s rich history with a Cimadevilla walking tour, explored the Laboral City of Arts and the Ethnographic Museum, and enjoyed lunch at Confusion restaurant. The day concluded with a trip to the Aquarium and dinner at Auga restaurant.
